PURPOSE: To utilize sensible heat of a melt slag efficiently as a heat source for water gas reaction, by introducing a gasification agent as a carrier gas and lower coal and waste oil as a fuel through a lance into a melt slag in a slag storage tank.
CONSTITUTION: Melt slag flowing from the slag shoot 5 is stored in the slag storage tank 1, and a part of the slag is overflown to the slag waste tank 6. The bottom of the reaction tank 2 is maintained a little above the surface of the melt slag 7. Common coal or low-rank coal powder or waste oil and a gasification agent as a carrier gas are introduced from the lance 3 into the melt slag. Coal powder or waste oil and the gasification agent rise while being in contact with the melt slag until they react with steam in the reaction tank 2, and the water gas generated is collected through the gas tube 4 in the gas tank. Ash in the fuel coal and the residue of the waste oil are changed into slag completely and absorbed in the melt slag.
