PURPOSE: To enable to eliminate complicated handling in key operations for setting a decimal tab, by a method wherein decimal tab position data are incorporated in a program, and numerical data are printed on the basis of the position data when executing the program.
CONSTITUTION: When a program controlling mode is set, a CPU50 displays a predetermined initial set screen on a display device 10, and then numerical data, decimal tab position data and the like are written into a memory area 58 in a RAM53. Then, with a return key on a keyboard 9 operated, the CPU50 analyzes the validity of each executable statement, displays the result of analysis, and writes it into a memory area 57 through a memory-controlling means 62. Subsequently, a printing-controlling means 61 reads the decimal tab position data from the area 57, and controls a printing part 51 on the basis of the data so that the position of decimal points in the numerical data in the program coincides with the decimal tab position in sequentially printing numerals.
