To deal with requests to disclose or to correct personal information that exists in, e.g., a company in a distributed fashion and to prevent the personal information from being leaked inadvertently or abused by surely retrieving the personal information and by keeping it in a manageable state without seeking human cooperation or placing burdens on staff in charge.
A personal information management server 20 is configured of: an installation means for installing a personal information retrieval program in each client 10; and a collection means for receiving the results of self search executed by each client 10 and for storing the results in a database. Each client 10 is configured of: a personal information retrieval means for specifying and retrieving an assembly of personal information from data in a storage part by executing the personal information retrieval program; and a sending means for sending the results of self search to the personal information retrieval server 20.
