To surely suppress deterioration and damage to a fluorescent body for generating light source light for a desired wavelength band from excitation light by simplifying a mechanical structure of a light source system.
A projection device includes: an LD array 42 for arranging a plurality of LDs (laser diodes) in an array shape and emitting respective excitation light; a fluorescent plate 45 forming a fluorescent layer for emitting the light source light of the desired wavelength by radiation of the excitation light from the LD array 42; a lens array 44 provided on the LD array 42 side of the fluorescent plate 45 with lenses corresponding to the plurality of LDs arranged in the array shape and condensing the light source light emitted by the fluorescent plate 45; and projection systems 37, 16, 38, 14, 17 for forming optical images by using the light source light extracted through the lens array 44 and projecting toward a projection target.
