Title:
PROJECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2012048096
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a projector capable of suppressing pixel deviation even when impact force caused by dropping of the projector or the like is applied thereto.

A projector comprises: a plurality of liquid crystal light valves 52 for modulating each of a plurality of color light beams; optical device main bodies 50 having holders for holding each of the liquid crystal light valves 52; a cross dichroic prism 351 having a light incident side end face 351N, with which each optical device main body 50 is fixed opposed to each other therebetween, and a pair of end faces (upper end faces 351A and lower end faces 351B) intersecting the light incident side end face 351N for combining the color light beams modulated by the liquid crystal light valves 52; a first adjacent section 8 disposed closest to at least one of the lower end faces 351B of the pair of end faces; and a second adjacent section disposed closest to one of the optical device main bodies 50 in other lower end face 351B. The first adjacent section 8 is formed such that the distance L1 from at least one of the lower end faces 351B is less than the distance L2 of the second adjacent section from the one of the optical device main bodies 50.
