Abstract:
To provide a protection element and a battery pack that can respond to high responsiveness and high reliability by preventing fast melting and insulation breakdown of fuse elements.SOLUTION: A protection element 1 has an insulating substrate 2, first and second electrodes 4a, 4b on the insulating substrate 2, a heating element 5 formed on the insulating substrate 2, a heating element draw-out electrode 4c electrically connected to the heating element 5, a fusible conductor 3 mounted over the first electrode 4a to the second electrode 4b via the heating element draw-out electrode 4c, and an insulation protection layer 7 covering the heating element 5.
