Abstract:
To provide a proton conductive electrolyte membrane that exhibits high proton conductivity even in a low humidity or anhydrous environment, prevents generation of wrinkles during manufacture, and has satisfactory handleability.SOLUTION: A proton conductive electrolyte membrane includes a polymer having first portions and second portions connected by covalent bond, a plasticizer, and a non-fluorine-based porous sheet. The polymer and the plasticizer are immersed in the non-fluorine-based porous sheet. The first portions aggregate with each other to form domains at an operating temperature of the proton conductive electrolyte membrane, and the second portions cross link the domains. The second portions have a proton receptive group. The plasticizer includes a proton donating compound having a pKa of 2.5 or less, and thereby the plasticizer is immersed in the second portions, and the glass-transition temperature of the polymer is reduced compared with a case in which the proton conductive electrolyte membrane does not include the plasticizer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
