Title:
PROTON CONDUCTIVE SOLID ELECTROLYTE MEMBRANE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006059672
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a solid polymer electrolyte membrane improved in defects of the polymer electrolyte membrane such as (dimensional change by water absorbing swelling, insufficient oxidation resistance, dissolution of an electrolyte membrane into methanol, crossover of methanol), and defects of an inorganic oxide solid electrolyte such as (difficulty in membrane formation by itself caused by insufficient mechanical strength, breaking by internal stress, or others), and to provide the manufacturing method of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane.

The solid electrolyte membrane comprises a reinforcing base material having voids and a solid electrolyte carried in the voids of the reinforcing base material, the reinforcing base material is a porous organic polymer film having a thickness of 5-300 μm, an average pore diameter of 0.1-10 μm, a maximum pore diameter of 100 μm or less, and an air permeability (JIS P8117) of 20 seconds or less, and the solid electrolyte comprises metal alcoxide and sulfonic acid and/or phosphonic acid and silicon alcoxide or silicon chloride, and a proton conductive solid electrolyte membrane contains 60-90 vol.pts. the solid electrolyte. The manufacturing method of the proton conductive solid electrolyte membrane is developed.
