PURPOSE: To obtain a high voltage, small type, highly reliable and highly safe PTC thermistor resistor.
CONSTITUTION: An Ag electrode 12 is provided on both opposing ends of a BaTiO3 PTC thermistor element 11 having a positive temperature coefficient of resistance, a metal cap 13 is externally fitted to the Ag electrode 12 on both ends of the PTC thermistor element 11, a lead wire 14 is attached by welding to the metal cap 13, and the PTC thermistor element 11, other than the part where the Ag electrode 12 is provided, is coated with moisture-proof resin 15. Further, the entire part of the PTC thermistor element 11 is coated with heat-resisting coating material 16 using a baking coating method, and an excellent PTC thermistor resistor, having high voltage, high reliability and high safety, is obtained at low cost.
