To provide a pulse propagation velocity measuring device capable of accurately determining the propagation distance of a pulse.
The apparatus includes an input device 80 to which a patient's height information HI and age information AI are input. The propagation distance L of a pulse wave is determined by substituting the height information HI and the age information AI input from the input device 80 into equation 3: L=αHI×βAI+γ Thus, by determining the propagation distance L while taking both the height and age of the patient into account, an accurate propagation distance L can be determined. In this way, the propagation velocity PWV of the pulse can be obtained with accuracy by use of the propagation distance L and the accuracy of diagnosis on the basis of the propagation velocity PWV is enhanced.
