Title:
PULSE OR SUPERCONDUCTIVE WIRE FOR ALTERNATING CURRENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01264113
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain necessary strength and the excellent quality of superconduction by making the number of element wires of a primary strand more than five and the core of the strand hollow.

CONSTITUTION: By tying up in a strand more than five superconductive element wires 3 to make a strand, making a primary strand 5 with a hollow core part 10 in its center and molding this primary strand 5 with hollow core around a reinforcing tape 8, a superconductive wire 9 is made. As its core is made hollow in such a way, cooling becomes not enough because of existence of the core and its role as a heating part is not only deleted but cooling is promoted and heating thereon is prevented because a refrigerant can be supplied to this part. This process enables stable operation in pulses or alternating current and even if a reinforcing wire is omitted, it is possible to maintain necessary strength as an excellent superconductive wire in a way to use a reinforcing tape 8 or the like.
