Abstract:
To obtain a pupil position detector and an image display device using the same observable a stereoscopic image with satisfactory image quality, even when an observer's position changes by using a signal from the pupil position detector.
In the pupil position detector which illuminates infrared light emitted from an infrared light emitting means to an observer and detects an observer's pupil position by using a photographic means, photographic lenses of the infrared light-emitting means and the photographic means are disposed optically coaxial, and the position of the light-emitting part of the infrared light-emitting means and the position of the entrance pupil of the photographic lens are almost in agreement optically.
