Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a purified product useful as a main material for conversion into environmentally benign materials, by purifying natural asphalt.
SOLUTION: First, Buton natural asphalt is mixed with an inorganic solvent. Secondary, asphalt is separated from the solution in a mixing tank. Thereafter, the asphalt accumulated by a separator is dried and purified into pure asphalt. For example, a soil stabilizer is obtained by incorporating the pure asphalt with slaked lime; an improved asphalt is obtained by incorporating the pure asphalt with an anti-stripping agent containing a tertiary amine compound and/or derivative therefrom; thus the pure asphalt is auxiliarily treated into environmentally safe materials.
