Title:
PURIFICATION OF BRANCHED CHAIN AMINO ACID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10237030
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a simple method for purifying an amino acid selected from the group consisting of valine, leucine and isoleucine in a high purity and in a high yield by using an inexpensive precipitating agent.

This method for purifying a branched chain amino acid comprises treating an aqueous solution containing the amino acid selected from the group consisting of valine, leucine and isoleucine with p-ethylbenzene sulfonic acid or its water-soluble salt, separating the produced amino acid.p-ethylbenzene sulfonic acid salt crystals, and subsequently decomposing the salt. The p- ethylbenzene sulfonic acid may be its free acid, its alkali metal salt or its ammonium salt.
