PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new compound, having strong vasodilator actions and useful as a vasodilator for treating diseases of hypertension, angina pectoris, cardiac failure and cerebral circulation disorder.

CONSTITUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I [R1 is a lower alkyl, an aralkyl, hydroxyl group, a lower alkoxy, nitro, etc.; R2 is an aryl which may be substituted by one or more halogens or lower alkyls or nitroxyl; R3 is H or amino; (n) is an integer of 2-4] and its acid addition salt, e.g. N-acetyl-N '-phenethyl-3-pyridinecarboximidamide expressed by formula II or N-benzoyl-N'- phenethyl-3-pyridinecarboximidamide expressed by formula III. The compound expressed by formula I is obtained by passing, e.g. a compound expressed by formula IV (R4 is a lower alkyl) as a starting raw material through a compound expressed by formula V.
