Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently improve the quality of a paraffinic feedstock by feeding a paraffinic feedstock and an olefin-contg. stream at a specific volume ratio to a specified external circulation reactor contg. a β-zeolite catalyst and reacting at a high olefin conversion ratio.

CONSTITUTION: In a qualitatively improving method of a paraffinic feedstock comprising of supplying the paraffinic feedstock and an olefin-contg. stream at a paraffinic to olefin ratio larger than 2 v/v to a reactor contg. a β-zeolite catalyst and removing qualitatively improved product, the quality is improved by alkylation of the paraffinic feedstock by reacting while keeping an olefin conversion of at least 90 mol.% with 0.01-10 kg/kg.h space velocity in an external circulation reactor having an extent of external circulation of liquid reactor contents expressed as the equation of larger than 2 (Φv is the volumetric flow rate of feedstock and olefins-contg. stream; Φvc is the volumetric external circulation flow rate).
