PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quality testing method which can set an explicit baseline for deciding the qualities of a seal, without having to depend on experience and intuitions of inspectors or allowing the baseline of decisions to be varied by the inspectors.
SOLUTION: The quality testing method is used for testing the quality of a container which is made up by tubulating a laminated packaging material; vertically sealing the packaging material; filling the tubular packaging material with food; horizontally sealing the packaging material; cutting, in order to obtain a pillow-shaped preformed structure; and bringing a flap to adhere to the sidewall and/or the bottom surface of the container. In the quality testing method, the flap adhering to the container is peeled off, thereby returning its shape into the pillow-shaped preformed structure; the food with which the container is filled, is taken out therefrom, in order to prepare an object to be tested 41; a region to be tested in a horizontal seal zone 23 and/or a vertical seal zone is preheated, and then the preheated region to be tested is measured by a detecting means 93; and the quality of the region to be tested is decided, based on measured values of the detection means.
