Abstract:

PURPOSE: To minimize optical distortion and to obtain a picture in real time by directly projecting an image onto a large two dimensional CCD array or a similar solid image sensor located at a main image plane through a single high resolution lens.

CONSTITUTION: The microscope is provided with a light source 1, a condenser 2, a scattering filter 3, an optical filter 4, a stage 5 which is driven by stepping motors controlled by a controller 13 in XYZ axis directions, an objective lens 6, a two dimensional solid image sensor 7, an A/D converter 8, a frame memory 9 to which an picture processor is attached, a computer 12, a large screen monitor 10 and a cursor controller 11. The distortion of the picture is minimized because only one optical lens is used in the constitution. Moreover, the process of the sensed discrete image is conducted in real time and the image is displayed on a high resolution monitor. Thus, the distortion and the aberration of the image are minimized and the entire or a portion of the image is obtained in real time.
