Abstract:
To provide: a quartz glass crucible whose inner surface is crystallized (devitrified) to prevent the release of fine detached matter from the inner surface of the crucible into a silicon melt when single crystals are pulled up and which is also possible to suppress the contamination of the silicon melt and the formation of cracks; and a production method therefor.SOLUTION: Provided is a quartz glass crucible 1 for holding a silicon melt and pulling up single crystals, the quartz glass crucible comprising an inner layer 4 and at least one outer layer 3 positioned outside the inner layer, wherein a layer 2 that includes a powder containing aluminum (Al) is formed within the inner layer along the shape of the crucible.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
