Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RFID reading device capable of generating a field intensity strong enough for good communication with an RFID, around the entire periphery of a long body that is an object to be identified and also continuously generating an appropriate field intensity in the longitudinal direction of the long body.SOLUTION: An RFID reading device, attached to a long body that is an object to be identified, includes a radiator for transmitting/receiving radio waves for communication with the RFID, and a cylindrical radio wave reflector in which the radiator is contained and through which the long body passes. Further, a length from the radiator to the radio wave reflector toward the long body in a y direction is smaller than 3/2 times the wavelength of the radio wave, and a length of the radio wave reflector in a z direction is smaller than 2 times the wavelength of the radio wave, where an x direction is a direction in which the long body passes through, the y direction is a direction that is perpendicular to the x direction and is a direction connecting the radiator to the long body, and the z direction is a direction perpendicular to the x and y directions.
