In a normal mode, a radio communication 10 performs reception by composite diversity by the plurality of antennas of an antenna 11. Then, a residual amount of the battery is detected; and when it is lower than the predetermined threshold, the radio communication 10 is put in a low power consumption mode. In the low power consumption mode, power supplying to the partial radio transmitter/receiver of a front end 13 is stopped, a battery lifetime is extended, an antenna, corresponding to the radio transmitter/receiver whose power supply has been stopped, is used for selective diversity.
