PURPOSE: To summarize and simplify a circuit without impairing the fidelity of a frequency demodulation circuit and to attain inexpensiveness and space saving by providing a second AM local oscillation circuit, a second AM mixing circuit, an AM narrow-band BPF, and a phase comparator.
CONSTITUTION: An FM signal received by an antenna 1 is mixed with a first FM local oscillation signal fFV1 at a first FM mixing circuit 6, and is converted to a first FM intermediate frequency signal fFI1 when an FM radio signal is received. Next, the signal fFI1 is mixed with the output signal of the second AM local oscillation circuit 21 at the second AM mixing circuit 22, and is converted to a second FM intermediate frequency signal fFI2, and passes the AM narrow-band BPF 23. Meanwhile, an oscillation signal of prescribed frequency is outputted from an oscillation circuit 32, and phase comparison with the output signal of the BPF 23 is performed at the phase comparator 34, and a phase comparison signal becomes a frequency demodulation signal. In such a way, it is possible to summarize and simplify the circuit, without impairing the fidelity of the frequency demodulation circuit, and to improve selectivity, and to attain the inexpensiveness and the miniaturization.
