Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3048946
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the number of kinds of characters converted and displayed in combinations of 2-digits of numerals without revising a current transmission station service.
SOLUTION: A conversion table section 124 is provided with a plurality of kinds of character conversion tables (T1, T2,...) for 100 characters, display character codes such as full size Katakana (square form of Japanese syllabary), half size Katakana, full size Hiragana (round form of Japanese syllabary), half size Hiragana, English capital letter, English small letter and special symbol are assigned to each of the tables and corresponding display character fonts are provided in a font section 125. A reception message stored in an RAM 13 is sequentially retrieved by a message conversion section 123 and a character corresponding to a message code is displayed on a display section 15 by referencing the selected character conversion table and the font section. In the case that a 2-digit of a specific figure is found out, the current conversion table is replaced. Thus, characters having not been displayed so far are displayed.
