Title:
RADIO WAVE ABSORBING RESISTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6239906
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a sufficient strength and to avoid any effect on the characteristic even when the titled resistor is handled more or less carelessly by using a formed part of a carbon fiber mat curing material so as to constitute the absorption resistor.

CONSTITUTION: Since the resistor is made of a formed part of the carbon fiber mat curing material and the carbon fiber itself is a conductor, when a parallel electric field is impressed to the carbon fiber mat curing material, a current flows to the carbon fiber, a voltage drop is caused between both ends of the mat and the energy of the electric field is parallel with the mat is reduced. Almost no current flows to the mat with an electric field at a right angle to the mat and the energy of the electric field is not decreased. Thus, the carbon fiber mat curing material causes a radio wave absorbing effect the same as a metallic plate or a dielectric applied with vapor-deposited conductor. Since lot of carbon fibers are folded and overlapped irregularly, when the same conductivity as that of the dielectric provided with vapor deposition film or the metallic plate is selected, the thickness is thicker than that of the dielectric provided with the vapor deposition film or the metallic plate. Thus, a sufficient strength is obtained.
