Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an automatic toll collection system from malfunctioning by suppressing unwanted radio waves, generated in a two-way communication between an on-road antenna and an on-vehicle antenna.
SOLUTION: A toll gate 1 is provided with a gate 2, and the on-road antenna 3 is provided at the upper part of the gate 2. The automatic toll collection system communicates information, regarding a toll by radio in two ways between the on-road antenna 3 and the on-vehicle antenna of an on-vehicle unit 5 mounted on a vehicle 4 to automatically collect a toll. A radio wave absorption panel 10 is fitted to a crossbeam below a road 7 arranged above the toll gate, at a position which is precedent in the traveling direction of radio waves radiated by the on-road antenna 3 and reflected by a lower road 6.
