A cordless telephone comprises acoustic receiving and loudspeaking equipment arranged in a housing with a plurality of pivotable parts (1, 2) as well as with a microphone, transmitting equipment and current supply equipment. The housing parts (1, 2) are foldable about at least one pivot axis and are held by the force of a spring (42) in a folded rest setting and in an unfolded use setting.
