To realize speeding up of rebuild/copy back processing without inhibiting processing of normal I/O, in a RAID system accessing a physical disc, and carrying out rebuild/copy back processing in response to a host I/O request.
When one disc device 200 fails of a plurality of disc devices 200 with a RAID configuration, a rebuild/copy back processing size for one time to reconfigure RAID is changed in response to existence or nonexistence of a normal I/O managed by RAID control 632. By this, if there is a normal I/O, the rebuild/copy back can be carried out without inhibiting processing of the normal I/O, and in a static state without a normal I/O, a larger processing size is specified, and speeding of the rebuild/copy back processing can be realized.
