To stably supply a power for a service instrument without newly providing a stationary inverter device in a hybrid system railroad motor car equipped with a generation means and a power storage means.
The driving device for a railroad rolling stock is equipped with a first power conversion means 4 driving a motor 5, a second power conversion means 3 generating a DC power that is a power source driving the first power conversion means, the generation means 2 generating an AC power by driving an engine 1, the power storage means 8 which has the function charging and discharging the DC power that is a second power source for driving the first power conversion means 4, and a third power conversion means 11 supplying the power to the service instrument 10. The power supply to the second power conversion means 3 and the third power conversion means 11 is performed by the generation means 2 generating the AC power by driving the engine 1.
