To provide a railway vehicle supplementing a conventional method and having further control capability by utilizing a control device using an electromagnet as an auxiliary brake.

In the railway vehicle, (1) the control devices 2 using the electromagnets parallel to a rail and spaced an appropriate distance from the rail are mounted to front and rear sides of the wheel of a truck. (2) The control devices 1 using a square-shaped electromagnet parallel to the rail are mounted to front and rear sides and a central part of a lower part of a vehicle body. (3) Attraction to the rail is realized by making a current flow to these magnets and utilizing a magnetic field formed by strength of the current to be utilized as the auxiliary brake interlockingly operated with the main brake. (4) Further, in order to prevent derailing at a curve point or the like, attraction to the rail is achieved by making a current, if necessary, flow to the magnets and utilizing the magnetic field formed by strength of the current and derailing is prevented.
