Abstract:

To provide a raw cover in which the occurrence of a bulge can be suppressed while preventing air from remaining in a tire.

The raw cover 2 is put into a mold 32. The mold 32 includes a tread segment 20, side plates 22 and 24, and a bladder 30. The raw cover 2 has an outer circumferential surface 2a in contact with the tread segment 20, an outer side face 2b in contact with the side plates, and a step formed between the outer circumferential surface 2a and the outer side face 2b. The end of the outer circumferential surface 2a connecting with the step is positioned axially outward from the end of the outer side face 2b connecting with the step. Where the position of the outer side face corresponding to the border between the tread segment 20 and the side plate 22 is P, the step is formed radially outward from the position P.
