Title:
REACTIVE DYE AND PHENYLENEDIAMINE AS INTERMEDIATE FOR PREPARATION THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03172355
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL: A compound of formula I {wherein R1-R3 are each H, 1-4C alkyl, phenyl; R4 is 1-4C alkoxyl, phenoxy, NL1L2 [wherein L1, L2 are each (substituted) 1-4C alkyl, (substituted)phenyl, etc.]; R5 is F, Cl, Br, 1-4C alkyl, (phenyl)sulfonyl, a group of formula II; A is 2-8C alkylene which may be discontinued by O, imino, etc.; T is vinyl, -CH2-CH2-Q (wherein Q is a detachable group under an alkaline reaction condition); D is phenyl, naphthyl}.

EXAMPLE: A compound of formula III.

USE: To color and print an OH group-, an amino group-containing organic substrate. To dye in saffron color, etc.

PREPARATION: 3-nitrophenyl isocyanate of formula IV is reacted with a sulfur- containing amine of formula V and the thio group of the thio compound thus formed of formula VI is at first oxidized to a sulfone group and then, the nitro group is reduced to an amino group. Subsequently, with the use of a hlalogenating agent the OH group can be exchanged with a halogen.
