To provide a reading easel portable and applicable to any size of book so as to refer to each book in the state of putting a knitting text on a table in the case of knitting or in the state of leaning a cooking text at the corner of a cooking table or leaning the cooking text against a wall near the kitchen in the case of cooking.

A reading easel body is composed of a backrest plate 1, a supporting stand 2 and a pressing plate 3, the backrest plate 1 and the pressing plate 3 are made parallel and the supporting stand 2 forms an almost U-shaped cross section for connecting the backrest plate 1 and the pressing plate 3 while keeping the interval between them. The pressing member 3 for book is composed of a transparent material so as to see both the spread pages of the book through it. Besides, the reading easel body is provided with a partition 4 and a hanger 5 so that the reading easel can be used while being raised or leaned against the wall.
