PURPOSE: To sufficiently insure rigidity of a tail gate, and eliminate vortex generated in the rear part of a body.
CONSTITUTION: In the rear body structure of an automobile in which a rear spoiler 4 having a wing part 5 extended in the vehicle width direction and leg parts 6 to support the wing part 5 is fitted to the upper face of the rear part of a tail gate 3 having an upper face plate 1 and a rear wall plate 2 extending downward from the rear end part thereof, reinforcing parts 7 to reinforce the rear wall plate 2 of the tail gate 3 are downward projectingly provided on the leg parts 6 of the rear spoiler 4, a running wind is blown out from blow-out ports formed on the reinforcing parts 7 onto tail lamps 11, and vortex generated in the rear part of a body is eliminated by the blow-out wind.
