PURPOSE: To improve strength around a back door opening by reinforcing the strength in a rear part body of a van-type and wagon vehicle particularly the strength in a connecting part of a tail cross member and a rear pillar.
CONSTITUTION: A rear pillar 2, formed with a closed section in a vertical direction by a rear pillar inner panel 21, rear frame 3 connecting a rear end vertical edge of the rear pillar inner panel 21 to a rear end edge of a quarter panel 4 and by a rear pillar reinforcement 22 linked between the rear pillar inner panel 21 and the rear frame 3, is constituted. A center line in a vertical direction of this closed section is provided in a position of agreeing in a front/rear position with a center line in a horizontal direction of a closed section of a tail cross member 1, to connect the tail cross member 1 and the rear pillar 2 without offsetting before and behind the closed section of both the tail cross member 1 and the rear pillar 2.
