Title:
REAR SPOILER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04260879
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce hammering sound while attaining light weight and improve the high quality sense of an automobile by forming a rear spoiler into hollow shape by an outer wall made mainly of thermoplastic resin, and maintaining its inner part in the approximately vacuum state.

CONSTITUTION: A rear spoiler is formed of both end parts 1 fitted to the rear part of an automobile and a wing part 2 for connecting both end parts 1 to each other into wing shape. Each end part 1 and the wing part 2 are both formed of thermoplastic resin such as polyphenylene oxide into hollow shape, and an inner part 3 is maintained in the approximately vacuum state. Because of the inner part 3 being thus maintained in the approximately vacuum state, hammering sound is low while attaining light weight, and the high quality sense of the automobile can be improved in addition to the original function of improving travel stability and wheel grounding friction.
