Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable the application of rear wheel steering matching the actual behavior of a vehicle by detecting a difference in the number of revolutions of front and rear wheels in the range of speed lower than the predetermined speed, and steering rear wheels via the determination of the degree and direction of a rear wheel steering angle for reducing said difference depending upon the extent thereof. CONSTITUTION:A front wheel steering angle sensor 1, a speed sensor 2 and front and rear wheel speed sensors 3 and 4 are provided, and output signals from said sensors are inputted to a control unit 5. In this control unit 5, it is first judged whether vehicle speed is in a range lower than the predetermined speed range, and the number of revolutions of front and rear wheels are compared with each other, when the judgement is YES. And depending upon the amount of the difference in the number of revolutions, the degree and direction of a rear wheel steering angle for reducing the difference is determined, thereby generating an output signal (e) and driving and controlling an electric motor 6 as an actuator for rear wheel steering via a drive circuit 5a.
