Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable receiving of service information in a short time, even when nation-wide broader-based data are transmitted using satellite broadcasting.
SOLUTION: A tuner 3 for receiving service information is installed, separate from a tuner 2 for regular viewing and listening. An output signal from the tuner 3 is inputted in a service information processing portion 21 via an IF (interface) 5. The receiving channel of the service information can be inputted from a control input portion 17. Moreover, the respective areas over the country are divided into blocks, and each of the blocks is set by area number. The area number is stored in a memory 20. When a receiving channel is the channel of the satellite broadcasting, service information is received, based on local information data correspond to area number which has been set beforehand.
