PURPOSE: To attain quick movement of a tape by commanding sequentially program change and rewinding drive when a non-recording part at reproduction is judged to exceed the 1st prescribed length and instructing the reproduction when a non-recording part at rewinding is judged to exceed the 2nd prescribed length.
CONSTITUTION: When the channel change to the 2nd program is finished, the rewinding is instructed immediately, the tape is rewound to the left and the tape comes to the inter-music at a point (b). Since the time of non-recording of the inter-music at the rewinding state is 1W2sec and does not reach 3sec being the setting value of the 3rd counter, it is judged to be ineffective and the rewinding state continues. When the tape comes to the non-recording part b' this side of the 1st music of the 2nd program P2, since the time elapses ≥3sec, the reproduction of the 2nd program is instructed. Since the tape comes to the non-recording part (a) after the last music of the 1st program P1 at the high speed feeding and it exceeds 3sec, it is judged to be effective, the reproduction, program change and rewinding are instructed sequentially and the other program is reproduced. Thus, the tape is moved fastest from the last music of one tape side to the head of the 1st music of the other tape side.
