Abstract:
To allow a recognition object to be quickly recognized with high precision by allowing for quickly calculating an integrated feature quantity by suppressing size-dependent variation even when an inspection region is set with various sizes.SOLUTION: With respect to a plurality of kinds of segments having segment areas different in size or spacing, feature quantity extraction means 50 extracts a feature quantity of the section area of each of the sections in an input image. Weight calculation means 51 calculates a weight corresponding to a degree of overlap for each of segment areas overlapping an inspection area. Integration means 52 obtains an integrated feature quantity resulting from integrating feature quantities extracted for individual segment areas overlapping the inspection area by using the calculated weights. Recognition means 56 uses the integrated feature quantity to recognize whether or not the inspection area represents a recognition object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
