Abstract:

PURPOSE: To recognize accurately the position of a running robot in a fixed coordinate system by receiving a signal that the robot tranmits by two receivers, and measuring the position of the robot from the time difference between those received signal.

CONSTITUTION: The ultrasonic wave transmitted by a signal transmitter 9 is received by the receivers 12 and 13, and then converted by a pulse signal converter 15 into a pulse signal, which is sent out to a position arithmetic device mounted on the robot 17. Then, the position of the running robot 7 is calculated from the time difference between the transmit pulse and receive pulse. Consequently, the position of the running robot is recognized accurately in the fixed coordinate system.
