Abstract:

To provide a recorded data regenerator that can ensure the security of saved data and method for saved data processing.

A characteristic cryptographic key only for programs such as a contents key, or a saved data encryption key based on the contents key that is produced to perform the encryption of saved data are used for storing saved data in a recording device, and decoding process is performed by a characteristic saved data decoding key only for programs in the case of regeneration. It is also possible to produce the cryptographic key for saved data based on several restricted data by such a manner as a characteristic key for the recorded data regenerator or an user's password that are used to perform encryption and decoding for saved data by producing a saved data cryptographic key and a decoded key in order to perform the store or regeneration of saved data.
