Abstract:
To enhance throughput while preventing failure of paper feed even in an inexpensive printer having no paper width detection mechanism.
The recorder comprises a recording head being driven in the main scanning direction while being supported on a carriage to record an image including characters, and a section for carrying a medium in the subscanning direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction wherein the waiting position of the recording head is set when the medium is carried at the medium carrying section based on the record of movement of the carriage corresponding to the recording range of the image.
