When a change generated in a feeding ejecting means which feeds and delivers to eject a medium to be recorded to a recording means is detected, it is judged whether or not a time passed after the recovery action for an ejection state of the nozzles is carried out last time exceeds a predetermined time. When the time exceeds, it is controlled by a control means to immediately carry out the recovery action of a recording head. A recovery means is executed before the recording action to the medium to be recorded is commanded, whereby the time to the end of recording is shortened.
