To reduce the size and weight of a recorder for transferring and recording a recording medium by an arrangement wherein a battery loaded to a battery loading part thereof also serves as a part of a recording medium carrying guide.

When a recording medium, i.e., a sheet, is inserted into a sheet feeding port 1, it is transferred by a transfer means 2 to a recording region where a specified image is formed thereon by a recording means 3 before being discharged to the outside of a recorder. The transfer means 2 and the recording means 3 are driven with a battery 4 and controlled by a controlled means mounted on a control board 6 according to a command from an operating panel 5. When the battery 4 is loaded to a loading part 8, lower surface of a battery case 4a is located at a sheet feeding port 1 and it serves as a part of upper guide member for a sheet inserted into the sheet feeding port 1. Since a part where a cover 7a overlaps the battery case 4a is decreased, the size and weight of a recorder are reduced.
