PURPOSE: To reduce an unrecording part of a recording paper, by a method wherein recording paper guides are placed at the front and the rear of a press roller, and when the forward end of the recording paper passes through a recording part, the front and the rear guide roller are caused to alternately make press contact with the press roller to guide the recording paper.

CONSTITUTION: After a forward end of a recording paper 20 is fed between a press roller 15 and a first recording paper guide roller 16, with a drive source actuated, the roller is turned, the roller 16 is brought to press contact with the roller 15, and simultaneously, a second recording paper guide roller 17 is caused to part from the roller 15. The recording paper 20 is pushed forward by means of a recording part 12 and the roller 15, and it is moved between the rollers 15 and 17. When the forward end of the recording paper 21 moves ahead from the roller 17, the roller 17 is broughr into press contact with the roller 15, and simultaneously, the roller 16 is detached from the roller 15.
