PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device which can convey a recording sheet while maintaining an overlapped state by changing a recording element to be used.SOLUTION: A recording device includes: feeding means which feeds a recording sheet loaded on a loading part; conveying means which conveys the recording sheet fed by the feeding means; recording means 7 which has a plurality of recording elements 20 arranged along a conveyance direction of the recording sheet and records on the recording sheet conveyed by the conveying means by using the recording elements; conveyance control means which can control conveyance of the recording sheet so as to overlap a rear end part of a preceding sheet 1-A as the recording sheet previously fed from the loading part and a tip end part of a subsequent sheet as the recording sheet fed next from the loading part; determination means which determines whether to convey the subsequent sheet to a position opposite to the recording means or not in accordance with a predetermined condition while maintaining the overlapped state of the preceding sheet and the subsequent sheet; recording control means which controls the recording element of the recording means to be used based on a determination result of the determination means.
