To provide a recording device that automatically selects as an object of erasure, or automatically erases, data reproduced in a portable terminal device side, out of the data recorded in an internal recording medium.
The recording device (illustrated in a video recording device 1) includes: a data output part which copies recorded data (illustrated in broadcast program data) recorded in an internal recording medium (illustrated in a memory 16) to a portable recording medium 30 mountable or mounted on a portable terminal device 3; and an erasure part which reads reproduced information which shows that the broadcast program data has been reproduced from the portable recording medium 30 and erases the broadcast program data in the memory 16 corresponding to the reproduced broadcast program data described in the reproduced information. The reproduced information is recorded in the portable recording medium 30 by the portable terminal device 3 when reproducing the broadcast program data.
