Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording position control device free from any obstacle at the time of acceleration and deceleration for a recording head, while maintaining advantages of high precision and high resolution.
SOLUTION: A positional information signal generating circuit 9 of an ink jet plotter is provided with an averaging circuit 12 for generating and outputting the first positional information signal from an A phase output out of A and B phase outputs from a sensor 5, a four-times multiplying circuit 13 for generating and outputting the second positional information signal multiplied four times by itself from the A and B phase outputs, a selection circuit 14 for selecting the outputs, and a switching control circuit 15 for switching-controlling the selection circuit 14. The averaging circuit 12 introduces only the A-phase output out of the A and B phase outputs to detect its edge, and the first positional information signal is provided via a resolution commanding terminal 11 between respective edges. The multiplying circuit 13 provides the second positional information signal. The switching control circuit 15 switches the selection circuit 14.
