The distance in opposing direction between a nozzle and a recording material of a recording head 1 is sensed by an inter-paper sensor 10. The delayed time is varied based on the displacement information for displacement of a sensing signal forming the value by stages in a comparison adding circuit 11 of the inter-paper sensor 10 by a display circuit 15, and a latch signal from a timing information circuit 16 is output as a delayed signal. A driving signal from a heater driving circuit 14 is delayed by the signal and the jet timing of the recording head 1 is delayed to correct the dot position.
