PURPOSE: To provide a recording material having favorable color forming properties, raw preservability and stability of developed color images and having light absorption in a near infrared region at a developed color part, by incorporating a specified fluoran derivative and a zinc complex.
CONSTITUTION: A fluoran derivative having a substd. aminoanilino group at 3-position and a zinc complex are incorporated. Of the fluoran derivatives, preferred is one represented by general formula I, wherein R is hydrogen, an alkyl or aryl, each of R1, R2, R3 and R4 is independently hydrogen, a halogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxyl, aryl or substd. amino, Ar is an aromatic ring, X is a halogen, and n is an integer of 0-4, with the proviso that R1 and R2, or R2 and R3, or R3 and R4 may be condensed with each other to form a naphthalene ring with the benzene ring A. The zinc complex preferably has a solubility in water at 25°C or not more than 20, particularly, not more than 5.
